Seasons Greetings

季節のあいさつを添えて

日本語は下にいる。Well, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas.  And Happy New Year to everyone!!  We had a very busy lead-up to Christmas in Tokyo, as we prepared for our first winter-time trip to the states in nine years abroad.  Usually we spend a few days in Niseko, Japan, over the holidays, but this year we would visit family in Colorado, USA.

On December 23rd, we all participated in the Tokyo Christmas Run, skating through the streets of Tokyo dressed as Santa Claus.  Jonah rode his bicycle from our home to Tokyo Station, where the event began, and the rest of us rode the subway as usual, donning skates at the assembly point.  Thanks to Yagami-san, for once again, leading a great skating event, and thanks to the Manager and Staff of Zest Cantina, Iikura location for once again putting on a great after party.  Thanks to all who participated.  It was safe and fun.  That's what we like.  Here are links to Martin and my pictures of the SKATE and the PARTY.

On the 24th, my wonderful friend, Hiroko-san, and her mother, came to get Toby to take care of him for our trip.  We miss the little guy, but we know he's probably already forgotten all about us, having such good care and great fun with Hiroko-san.  We spent that entire day doing all the crazy busy stuff you have to do before going on a two week international trip that includes holiday/family visits and a ski trip.  In the late afternoon, we had our little family gift exchange around the Christmas tree, and then it was time to walk to church for Christmas Eve carols and mass, which we enjoyed very much.  After that, we had a celebration meal at a Japanese restaurant on the way home, and finally got home around midnight. 

We flew to Colorado on the 25th, (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEVE!), but really it seemed like two days long.  When we finally got to Colorado, the weather was so very cold, and it took awhile to get the rental car, Monica left her ipod on the plane, and my cold had gotten much worse.  It's great to see Martin's family after such a long time.  I really love them all.  However, I did get very sick for a few days from the high altitude, migranes, and the bad cold.  I'm just feeling somewhat better now, and my son, Steve came in today for a very short visit.  I'll probably be fine to ski by the time we go to Breckenridge this weekend.  It's always great to be in the USA again.  Too bad we won't get a chance to visit other family and friends this time.

Since we no longer send out Christmas Cards, I hope this blog will be a way to keep our good connections between family and friends.  Please stay in touch.  Have a safe and wonderful 2010!!

みなさん、メーリークリスマスや、あけましておめでとうございます！旅行の準備から、最近とても忙しかったです。いつもこのときに、ニセコに行くですが、今度９年間の最初の冬のアメリカに旅行します。マーティンの家族と会いにコロラド州に行きます。

１２月２３日に、マレー家族４人は東京クリスマスランに参加しました。とても楽しかったですので、東京の街で、たくさんサンタは滑りました。やがみさんはリーダーだので、ありがとうございます。いいくらのゼストのレストランで後のパーティーをしたので、店長とスタフもありがとう。そのイベントはたのしかったですので、安心したも、みなはうれしいと思います。マーティンと私の写真は乗せたので、SKATEここにみて、PARTYここもみてください。

このポストの下にジョナはマーティンはとったの使った、Youtubeのビデオをを作りました。見てください。３分だけです。

２４日に、ひろこさんというともだちとかお母さんも、来た、トビをとりました。旅行の間にトビのお世話をするから、とても感謝して、安心しました。友達のうちは楽しいから、たぶん、トビはすでに私が忘れました。笑。その日は最後の準備の日から、忙しかったが、家族はクリスマスツイーの前にギフトのやりとりをしたので、夜に教会に行きまた。後に、近所の日本料理のレストランに行って、ちょっと真夜中ぐらい帰りました。

２５日にアメリカに飛行機で行って、二日間と思いました。コロラド州はとても寒いです。いろいろ問題だけど、マーティンの家族に会ったから、とてもうれしいかったです。でも、その日から、私は病気なりました。強い風を引いたとか、高山病とか、偏頭痛とか、時差ぼけもあったから、状態は悪くなりました。今日ちょっとよくなったから、たぶん、週末にスキー旅行に行くから、大丈夫と望みです。

クリスマスランは楽しかったですね。Kumaさんとりょうさんの上手なスケートはいい映画を使ったと思います。CRも一緒にスケートを楽しみにしています。
