Edomae Kaiten Sushi

江戸前回転寿司

真信じられないことですがマーティンは６年間東京に住んでいるけど、回転寿司を食べたことがありません。私は違いますよ。よく寿司屋に行きます。時々レベカとか、時々日本語の先生とか外の友達と行きます。大体一人で近所の回転寿司やで食べます。大体午後３時すぎに行くとコンベヤーにある寿司は少ないので、握る人に日本語で注文しなければなりません。 寿司はとても完璧なスナックです。寿司は健康によいし、早いし、高くないし、きれいだし、とてもおいしいです。次のおいしい一つを選ぶことは楽しみです。それで最近ビックカメラ(彼の二番目の家・笑）に行った後で、彼に銀座で初めての回転寿司の経験をして貰いました。上の写真の女性は近くに座った人です。彼女は食欲があって、食べ終わったときお皿の山ができていました。

This is hard to believe, but after living in Tokyo for six years, Martin has still not ever been to a kaiten sushi shop.  In contrast, I've been to sushi shops many, many times.  Often I go with Rebecca and sometimes with my Japanese teacher or other friends. But usually, I just go down to my local kaiten sushi shop (conveyor belt sushi restaurant) by myself.  I will often go after 3pm  when there are few sushi on the belt, so I have to speak Japanese to the chef to order my food.  Sushi is the perfect snack.  It's healthy, quick, not very expensive, beautiful, and very delicious. Choosing which tasty morsel to enjoy next is the pleasure. So, recently, after going to Bic Camera (our second home) I introduced Martin to his first kaiten sushi experience.  That woman in that picture above has a healthy appetite.  She sat near us in the shop, and she had two stacks of dishes when she was done.

Just talking about sushi makes me think of the Tsukiji Sushi Restaurant that Papa-san took me to some time ago, along with Matsui-san and Seb from France.  Awhile back, some of us girls (Yumiko-san, Matsui-san, Rebecca) went together, and it was just as good.  A long wait in the queue outside, and then delicious, totally fresh sushi.  SEE A FEW PIX. This famous restaurant is not kaiten style, you get a set.  The uni is humongous.  It is apparently in all the guidebooks, foreigners kept coming up to me and asking me if that's the place while I was waiting in line.  I think people who aren't accustomed to sushi should go to kaiten where they can choose a little of what they like best.

私も好きです。
「とびっこ」、「しらこ」、「中トロあぶり」、「しゃこ」をいつも頼みます。
あとは、気分次第で。。。

なつかしいおすし屋さんの写真！暮に築地にお寿司を食べに行った友人が「いつも１時間以上待つところなのに、全然待たずに食べられた」と言っていました。ノロ・ウィルス騒ぎが原因でしょうか。きっと今はまた行列が復活しているでしょうね。
それにしてもマーティンさんが回転寿司初体験だったとは意外でした。お気に入ったでしょうか。
