Happy 25th Birthday Steve! 25歳になるの誕生日おめでとう、スティーブ!(二番の息子)
It's getting colder, but the weather's been pretty good for skating lately. The December Saturday Night Skate was Very Fun, and the weather was fabulous. During this last weekend, there were two Christmas Runs. I participated in the Tokyo one on Saturday, but didn't go to the much larger Yokohama Christmas Run yesterday because it was Christmas Eve and I didn't want to be too far away from home and church. Do take a look at these skating pix on SMUGMUG. So, since it was Sunday, I went to Ueno City Run, which I like to do every week. There were just a few of us, (because everyone else was in Yokohama, of course) but it still seemed like a good and silly idea to wear my Santa suit. See Iwa-san's site for yesterday's pix. (I'll wait....) Did you look? Yes, there's lots of pix of me this time, that's what happens when there's just a few people, and one of them is wearing a silly Santa suit. You get lots of attention.
But here's the real reason I want you to see those pix on Iwa-san's site. Click on the pix above 12/24 CR on the site, and then click Back< a few times. The secret's out. Martin bought himself some in-line skates and he's been training himself. He had one lesson while in Michigan last month, and it was so useful, got him started safely. Since then, even when it's been raining here in Tokyo, if he has a chance between business meetings and tons of other stuff, maybe twice a week, he drives to the park and practices skating. Yesterday, Martin, Monica and Jonah all rode their bikes to Gaien (which is goal to the Ueno City Run) taking skates and gear, and met us when we arrived. The road is blocked off on Sundays and it's a smooth and pleasant place to skate, especially good for beginners. Monica, who hasn't been skating for at least a year, was very supportive and instructive to her Dad. It was sweet.
日本人友達:皆さん、今年の日本語の練習をした貰ったどうもありがとうございます。来年も、一緒に話すことを楽しみにしています。明日にニセコにスキーに行きます。 じゃ来年ね。
Merry Christmas! I've been traveling alot the past month, so haven't been able to visit your blog very often. Looks like you've been having a great time. Have a wonderful New Year's Eve, you'll be in 2007 about half a day before we will. Hope to see you again in the new year.
