Last evening was Martin's End of the Year Party for his office.
BOU-NEN-KAI 忘 (forget) 年 (year) 会 (meeting)
I'm glad he invited me. Everyone was very nice, and I especially enjoyed meeting Minerva for the first time. Thanks to Yuka for organizing this enjoyable event. If it had been up to me, I would have never ordered spam sushi, but Yuka did, I tried it, and it was surprisingly tasty. It is grilled spam slices on top of sweetened vinegar rice wrapped with a thin slice of nori (seaweed) with various accompaniments including an orchid on top. The four sauces were really the ticket.
On the way home, after exiting the subway, Martin bought a beer at the vending machine near the station as he often does. So convenient. The vending machines here ALWAYS work, and several have hot and cold drinks available. Near the station, you can get canned sake, beer, tea and soft drinks. The fall weather is crisp and clean and our neighborhood is quiet at night. It was a pleasant walk home. Exactly one beer's distance.
Wow!
It's so gorgeous!
I thought SPAM sushi is a kind of,
we say, "first food", like Macdonald.
I feel like I saw it in Hawaii...
Oh it's a SPAM musubi, very close but
is different staff.
It looks you could have a woderful
time with your hasband at party.
Maybe, see you in SNS bonen-kai,
yes?

That's too funny, measuring distance by beverage consumption. Though very cool that you have that choice...
