My mother's garden is scattered all around the large yard. She has so many interesting things growing. She and Dad (who does the yardwork) are very busy with their own jobs, but they have chosen indiginenous plants that do well in their climate and their yard is beautiful. It used to be my Grandparents' home but they have made many improvements. I love to walk around the property and discover the various marvels of nature.
Going back to Michigan, walking the land where I grew up, and the plants that are so familiar to me, helps me get my bearings. Here is a slideshow of some of Mother Nature's miracles that I saw on my parent's and sisters' property during our recent visit.

When I bring my family to my parents' home for just a few days a year, it is always a big event. Everyone is very busy, but they spend time with us and help us reconnect with our roots. Here is my Mom, we were taking a walk at dusk and stopped to appreciate a blooming rosebush.
Living in Tokyo, I see a different parade of blooms during the seasons. I love that there are roses around my apartment building that bloom during the winter. Like woman, flowers can bloom in any season, I think.
I think the slide show is beautiful and I like how the pictures fade in and out. I remember the quilt but I can't remember where we saw it at. Keep up the good work.

Mom,
We saw that quilt at the Fair, in the Exhibit Barn. Before we went to the Frog Jumping Contest. It was made by someone you know. Her age was listed on the card, 66. Maybe it was the grand prize winner. It had a large pink ribbon... or maybe that's the runner up. Anyway, an interesting piece of art.
