A Year From Now...

Monday, Chicago

Yesterday, we drove to Chicago to look at colleges for Jonah.  Chicago is such an interesting American city!  昨日チカゴに運転で行ったので、ジョナのために大学校を見ています。チカゴはとても面白いアメリカンの町です。

Saturday, Muskegon River, Big Rapids, Michigan

We enjoyed a relaxing time floating down the river in Kayaks with two of my family, including two of my sisters.  Thanks to Larry, Nikki and Mary for making it happen, and Char, Laney and Logan for adding to the fun.  パメラの家族と側で楽しかったです。二人妹へありがとう。すごいリラクスしました。

 While unloading my bike tonight...a full rainbow appeared!  I ran upstairs and caught the view from the bedroom window.

 

Baseball anyone?, Detroit

Jonah's favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals, came to town and played his second favorite team, the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday.  So, I drove him and three other teenage boys to the game.  Cards lost, but it was a good game. 火曜日に、 ジョナの一番好きの野球のチームと言うセントルイスのカルデナルスはこの町に来たので、彼の二番の好きのチームと言う、デトロイトのタイガースを試合に出た。私は運転をしたので、4人ティーンエじ男の子と試合を見ました。カルずは負けたが、楽しかったです。 Jonah has been friends with Connor since Kindergarten in Japan.  Now Connor lives in Michigan, and he is a Tigers fan.  So, it made for an interesting time at the game.   カーナーはジョナの長い時間の友達です。5歳から、日本に一緒に、学校に行きました。そして、たぶん4年間前に、ミシガン州に引っ越したので、タイガースのファンになりました。それから、一緒に試合に行ったことは面白かったです。

Family Matters, Toledo

A happy chance to get reconnected with extended family.  So great to see you after all this time, Uncle Ed and Aunt Clare.  Lovely to meet you, Brook.  It was a short visit, but really nice.  And Many Thanks to Kelly and Uncle Mark for hosting Monica and giving her this internship opportunity.

最近、マーティンの父の兄弟をも一回会いました。今2週間に、モニカは叔父さんの家に泊まるながら、彼たちの会社に働きました。インターンシップです。いい経験と思うので、大きい家族はすばらしいです。短い会い時間ですが、よかったです。

Already training... in Ann Arbor

While Jonah and I were trying to recover from the first day of jet-lag, Martin went to work.... and then went on a 30 km bike ride with his new triathlon group... then a run!  What a MAN!!!

今日、ジョナと時差ぼけの病気から直してなりたいながら、マーティンは仕事に行ったので、30キロの自転車の乗ることや走ることも行きました。新しいスポーツグループに会いました。すごい男。

One day... in Shanghai

This was yesterday.  Today was a crazy mess of sorting and packing and moving... but yesterday was almost normal.  Last week was so clear, but this week the polution is so bad, even Jonah has a cold.

これは昨日です。今日は複雑な何々が、選ぶことで、パッキングことで、引っ越すこともあらので、昨日は殆どの普通です。先週は晴天だけど、今週の空気はすごく汚染なので、ジョナも風が引きました。

Time for a little Toby time.  We will all miss Toby for the summer, but especially Jonah, who is watching sports on TV with his buddy.  トビはジョナの友達ので、夏に、トビは中国にいるので、ジョナhは旅行をします。ここに、トビとテレビで、スポーツを見ています。

Last training session with Malone.  Over many months, he has been an excellent trainer, and really helped me recover.  最後のマーロンとトレーニングをしました。たくさん月間でとてもいいトレーナをしたので、よくなることを手伝いました。

Here is the gym building seen at night while taking toby for a walk.  I will miss this place.

夜にトビと散歩をしながら、ジムを見ました。　この所を忘れない。

Two Flat Tires... Jinqiao, Shanghai

And Martin is ready for some new equipment.  Can't say I blame him.  Those blow outs are dangerous.  Wait just a minute... I meant maybe some new wheels... that Specialized bike looks way too serious.

最近二日のに、マーティンの自転車のタイヤは失敗しまいました。それから、新しい道具を欲しいと思うので、あれは危ない。でも、ちょっと待って、新しいホイールとか、その自転車はすごく高そうだよね。

Okay, fine.  Get some new bike shorts.  大丈夫だので、新しい自転車のショーツを買ったら、いいです。

This store boxed up Martin's bike for the flight.  この店はマーティンの自転車を飛行機の箱に入れました。
 This week, Martin had a few good bye parties at work.  The most important time, was when he said good bye to his China team of two dozen people, including the electric car battery lab.  He's worked hard with them, and cares about their future.  今週に、マーティンはいろいろ仕事のさよならパーティーに参加したので、一番大切間はは二十人のチームにさやならと言ったので、去年でがんばったと未来が心配だと思います。電気の車の電池のラブの人人とか。
